MPL 50 Channel Description

The MPL 50 is a 2 channel amplifier. Each channel has its own High and Low guitar input jacks. Each channel has its own preamp gain structure known as a “split cathode” design. This allows for the amp to be a bit more versatile as compared to the JTM style amps. Channel 1 is the "Bright" Channel and Channel 2 is the hotter and darker "Normal" channel. Channel 1 is typically used as the cleaner channel and Channel 2 for the heavier rhythm sections and lead work. Each channel has its own Volume Control. Both channels share a common tone circuit, which includes independent Treble, Middle, and Bass controls. Channel 1 and 2 can be "channel" jumped together, allowing both channels to be used simultaneously.
