DRX Attenuator - Available Foot Switches

type A

Type "A" Foot Switch

The type "A" foot switch allows for switching between DRX attenuator's Rhythm and Boost levels.

type B

Type "B" Foot Switch

The type "B" foot switch allows for switching between DRX attenuator's Rhythm and Boost levels, while simultaneously switching channels on amplifiers equipped with the channel switching feature. One channel can be set for clean tones with the DRX attenuator set for minimum attenuation. The other channel can be "cranked up" and the DRX attenuator's other setting can be adjusted for an appropriate volume level.

The type "B" foot switch is designed to work with channel switching amplifiers that use a 1/4" mono plug/jack for the switching feature, based on an Open/Closed contact for switching channels. A toggle switch is provided to change the switching polarity from normally open to normally closed. If your amp has a 1/4" stereo plug/jack for the switching feature, then a modified type "B" foot switch box is required.

The type "B" foot switch can be also used as a foot switch for the attenuator, without using the amplifier channel switching feature.

Notes: Before using the type "B" foot switch with your amplifier with the channel switching feature, ensure the amplifier uses an Open/Closed contact to perform the channel switching function.

type C

Type "C" Foot Switch

The type "C" A/B foot switch, allows for channel switching between "clean" and "dirty" tones on non channel switching amplifiers that have two individual channels, while simultaneously switching between the two separate DRX attenuation levels.. For example: With an "old school" Marshall or Fender amplifier, the volume knob of one channel can be set for clean tones with minimum attenuation, allowing for maximum clean headroom. The volume knob of the amplifier's other channel can be "cranked up" for overdriven tones with the desired amount of attenuation to control the overall volume level. The A/B foot switch, switches between the amplifier's channels, while simultaneously switching between the two separate attenuation levels.

The type "C" foot switch can also be used for switching between the DRX attenuator's Rhythm and Boost levels, without using the A/B channel switching feature. The type "C" foot switch can also be used as a stand alone A/B switch box, without using it with the DRX attenuator. The A/B foot switch includes the cable for the connection between the A/B box and the DRX attenuator. The customer must provide the three guitar cables, required for the guitar and channel input connections. The A/B box uses mechanical switches, as with other passive A/B switch boxes, it is normal to hear a click or popping sound when switching between the amplifier's channels.

The type "C", A/B Box/Foot Switch can be also used:

* As a standard A/B switch box without the use of the attenuator.

* As a foot switch for the DRX attenuator, without using the A/B amplifier channel switching feature.
