DRX Attenuator - Optional Type "C", A/B Foot Switch Box
Optional A/B Foot Switch Box
The type "C", A/B foot switch box, allows for channel switching between "clean" and "dirty" tones on non channel switching amplifiers.
For example: With an "old school" Marshall or Fender amplifier, one channel can be set for clean tones with minimum attenuation, allowing for clean headroom and the other channel can be "cranked up" for overdriven tones with the desired amount of attenuation. The A/B foot switch, switches between the amplifier's channels, while simultaneously switching between the two separate attenuation levels.
The type "C", A/B Box/Foot Switch can be also used:
* As a standard A/B switch box without the use of the attenuator.
* As a foot switch for the DRX attenuator, without using the A/B amplifier channel switching feature.
Notes:
1. The type "C", A/B box shunts the off-line "A" or "B" output to ground, the same way an unused Input Jack on the amplifier does. The shunted input to the amplifier, reduces the noise of the off-line channel.
2. In order to maintain the guitar's tone and signal level, the A/B box uses a mechanical switch. The type "C", A/B box is passive and does not require power. As with other passive A/B foot switch boxes using a mechanical switch, there might be a "click" or "popping" sound when switching between the A and B outputs.
